Bank Holiday Weekend

The Prouds all hopped in the Rover on Friday morning, ready for a weekend down in St.Ives. All was going well; the kids were in the back watching the DVD players in the headrests (anything to keep them quiet - as long as its educational!) and myself and Tabs were up front enjoying Viva La Vida on the radio. Then something exceptional happened - the Rover broke down! I had to pull onto the hard shoulder and vacate the vehicle (safety first), before phoning the AA. Being Bank Hols they were obviously very busy, so the family and myself were left open to the elements. The temperature dropped by a couple of degrees and I was worried the kids might get pneumonia, but fortunately I had a couple of those foil blankets in the boot left over from my London marathon run, so was able to wrap them up safe and sound. An hour or so passed and I was worried about our safety - we were literally down to our last Yakult and the kids were famished! Then over the horizon, a yellow angel appeared in the form of the AA van! He towed us to the nearest garage where they completed the necessary work, and we even all had a sing song on the way - the kids changed the words to coldplays 'yellow' to fit with 'yellow van' it was all quite wonderful! So a big thankyou to our knight in yellow armour, you saved our bank holiday and we are eternally grateful. St.Ives was wonderful too!

Quote of the day

Those that know me will often comment about how inspiring I can be to others. I to sometimes need to be inspired. At these times i often look to my own personal heroes for that inspiration. I thought it would be a good idea to share some of their wisdom with you, so here's the first...

The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes.

Dreams Series 3

I’ve been casting for the new series of Chasing Dream’s the last few weeks. For the third series we are seriously taking our subjects out of their comfort zones. Our team will take on deserts, rain forests and all sorts of extreme sports. Sadly it’s amazing how hard it is to find quadruple amputees who want to be on television.

I really want to stick to the no arms no legs rule for this one. I think it’s needed for the audience to really get the ‘fuck me’ factor when the team crawl the final feet to the summit of Kilimanjaro if one of them has a leg or arms and the others don’t it just wont work as well so I’m holding out for the right mix. One poor sod I think thought he was auditioning for X Factor, even before his helper had finished wheeling him into my office he started belting out ‘Danny Boy’ I didn’t even get a chance to ask him if he had seen any of my past programme’s.

Viva La Vida

I just wanted to share this with you. I’m absolutely loving listening to this song each morning while on my commute to work. It makes the drive across town in the Land Rover almost bearable. Fellow travellers around King’s Cross have probably spotted me belting out my own version of Chris Martin’s beautiful voice! It is of course the excellent Viva La Vida by Coldplay, what a great album as well. I whole heartedly recommend it to brighten up the most dreary English summer.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to my new blog. There was some rather unfortunate business recently involving a story about my demise drowning in a Devon river. I thought I would start this blog just to set the record straight! I’m happily full of life and I’m currently about to start filming the new (third) series of Chasing Dreams (more about this later).

So sit back and relax. The blog will be a pretty informal place to hang out. I intend to use it to just get some of my thoughts out there about life, my TV programmes and of course my lovely family. Enjoy

Oh and I must pass on my congrats to Team GB, absolutely fantastic.
