Bank Holiday Weekend

The Prouds all hopped in the Rover on Friday morning, ready for a weekend down in St.Ives. All was going well; the kids were in the back watching the DVD players in the headrests (anything to keep them quiet - as long as its educational!) and myself and Tabs were up front enjoying Viva La Vida on the radio. Then something exceptional happened - the Rover broke down! I had to pull onto the hard shoulder and vacate the vehicle (safety first), before phoning the AA. Being Bank Hols they were obviously very busy, so the family and myself were left open to the elements. The temperature dropped by a couple of degrees and I was worried the kids might get pneumonia, but fortunately I had a couple of those foil blankets in the boot left over from my London marathon run, so was able to wrap them up safe and sound. An hour or so passed and I was worried about our safety - we were literally down to our last Yakult and the kids were famished! Then over the horizon, a yellow angel appeared in the form of the AA van! He towed us to the nearest garage where they completed the necessary work, and we even all had a sing song on the way - the kids changed the words to coldplays 'yellow' to fit with 'yellow van' it was all quite wonderful! So a big thankyou to our knight in yellow armour, you saved our bank holiday and we are eternally grateful. St.Ives was wonderful too!
